Hey y’all—long time, no blog!
I know FreckledGinger Goes usually means I’m off exploring in the RV, discovering hidden gems, and chasing sunrises from new zip codes. But lately, “going” has taken on a different rhythm.
While Louise (our big toy hauler) is taking a breather, I’ve been diving into a whole new kind of local adventure—reminding myself that “travel” is more about mindset than mileage.
🌄 Sunrise Paddle Sessions – There’s something magical about gliding across still water at dawn, coffee in hand, and the world just beginning to wake up. It’s peace, power, and perspective all at once.
🔐 Escapology Nights with Family – One of the highlights this season has been spending time with family—tackling escape rooms is a new obsession for me. There’s nothing like solving puzzles under pressure and celebrating those big “aha!” moments together.
🚣♀️ Whitewater Kayaking Adventures – We even tried whitewater kayaking as a family, and it was epic. Between the adrenaline of the rapids and the laughs during the (short) calm stretches. It was one of those experiences that leaves you a little bruised, a lot tired, and totally grateful.
🥾 Hiking Local Trails – I’ve also been carving out time to explore trails closer to home. Turns out you don’t have to cross a state line to find breathtaking views and soul-fueling solitude.
This season has been a beautiful reminder that even when I’m not clocking miles, there’s still so much life to be lived—and shared
So if you're feeling stuck or restless, maybe you don’t need to pack up the RV. Just say yes to that early morning paddle, the local trail you’ve never walked, or the chance to make memories with your favorite people.
FreckledGinger still goes—just with a paddle in one hand, hiking boots in the other, and a whole crew of family along for the ride.
